Project Overview

Overview provided by crowdfunder.co.uk

They are Crowdfunding to install LED floodlights around 2 pitches on ButtLane. After 3 years of COVID affecting us all, combined with ongoing buildingwork at The Nest, the club is need of your support to deliver what would be asignificant improvement to the facilities we have. The Rugby League World CupLegacy gives us a great opportunity to secure facilities which will support theclub, and its players for years to come. By acting now they will be able todeliver a £42 000 project for a fraction of the cost.

This project will help theclub become far more financially sustainable going forward as it presentlyspends thousands of pounds each year hiring training venues for their our teamsto use. Availability of floodlit spaces within Leeds, and the inherent costattached hiring these facilities affects the accessibility of the clubcurrently. Some players struggle to travel to these venues whilst othersstruggle to pay the additional subs required to meet the hire costs.

By installing LEDfloodlights on Butt Lane we will have access to year round training at afraction of the cost they currently pay. Beyond this, having floodlit spaceswithin LS12 will massively improve the facilities within the local area, creating a year round space not only for Rugby League, but other activitiestoo.

Farnley Falcons is a placefor friendship and team building, where self esteem and confidence flourishes, not just within our players but our friends and family too. There are over 200members who participate within our club who train and play, and watch andsupport us each week.

The club is currently alsoworking towards delivering a brand new clubhouse facility which help the clubbecome more sustainable going forward.
