Faith in Families has Community Cwtches across Swansea and now Cwtch Mawr our multibank supporting South Wales. We support individuals who could be your hidden family, friends, team members, customers, and partners. Adversity and crisis does not discriminate, and we work with thousands of families every year across Swansea.

Project Overview

Overview provided by crowdfunder.co.uk

The cost of living crisis is now being referred to as the "cost of staying alive" crisis. People are struggling to purchase the essential items they need to participate in everyday life. None of us here ever envisioned launching a multi-bank in Swansea, or even considering the need for one in Wales.

However, the harsh reality is that we are facing unprecedented levels of poverty and financial hardship—more than I or my teams have witnessed in the 25 years I have worked in this sector.

Children are growing up accustomed to cold, discomfort, hunger, and despair, which hinders their ability to learn and engage with life. Parents are exhausted and anxious, left with little hope despite their hard work. Individuals find themselves debating whether to heat their homes or sit in the dark.

Cwtch Mawr will now be able to support them all. Children who previously sat on the sidelines of playing fields can now have brand-new football boots.

New mothers will be able to enter the hospital with new, clean clothes and essentials, starting their journey into parenthood with more dignity than before. Care leavers moving into their new homes will have more than just a kettle. Parents will be able to celebrate their children’s milestones with renewed ambition and hope.

We will recruit a team of volunteers to assist individuals in need of essential items, ensuring they receive goods that will improve their lives and make them aware of Cwtch services that can help them flourish and thrive.

Derian House Childrens Hospice

We provide respite and end-of-life care to more than 400 babies, children and young people across the North West. The care we provide is free for families, but services cost £6 million to run every year. Our help extends right across the family to brothers, sisters, parents and grandparents.

Sydenham Garden

Sydenham Garden provides therapeutic gardening and and arts and crafts groups for people with mental health difficulties and dementia - in the beautiful setting of a nature reserve and community food growing site. It is a source of peace and joy, a real sanctuary when people are going through tough times.

Hounds for Heros

We’re a small passionate team dedicated to supporting those who have served or are serving our country, who have become disabled through injury or illness. Our experienced trainers, volunteers, and staff work together to provide life-changing assistance dogs that offer not only physical support but emotional strength and independence.
